Within the framework of the project 619119-EPP-1-2020-1-NL-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP “Synergy of educational, scientific, managerial and industrial components for climate management and climate change prevention” / CLIMAN (Erasmus+ Program, Neighborhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument, Objective KA2: Higher Education Capacity Building), a working visit of scientists from the Classical University of Ternopil to the University of Foggia (Foggia, Italy) took place from September 1 to 7, 2024. Representatives of the Western Ukrainian National University: Vasyl Brych, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Innovation, Nature Management and Infrastructure, Olena Borysiak, Deputy Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Innovation, Nature Management and Infrastructure, Antin Shuvar, Head of the Department of Agribiotechnology, and Ulyana Tkach, Associate Professor of the Department of International Tourism and Hospitality Business, took part in workshops and constructive discussions on ensuring the sustainable development of the project at universities. The first day began with consultations for university representatives and a welcoming meeting with the project coordinator, Rector of the Netherlands Business Academy Jan van Zwieten, Head of the International Relations Office of the University of Foggia Giulio Esposito, and CEO of HULTGREN Consulting Company (Germany), a project partner, Oliver Schmidt.
During the week, the following events were organized for the participants: a workshop on the Sustainable Development Goals as strategic instruments of influence for the implementation of the project objectives (trainer: Oliver Schmidt, Director of HULTGREN Consulting Company, Germany); lecture “Sustainable Bioenergy” (lecturer: Mirko Bartz, PhD, Professor at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences); lecture “Development of sustainable and customer-oriented business solutions” (lecturer: Eva Bruskle, Turiba University, Latvia); lecture “Analysis of prospects and challenges related to the use of hydrogen as a key element for the integration of different sectors of the energy system” (lecturer: Las Sejum, Professor, Berlin University of Applied Sciences, Germany).
Scientists from the Western Ukrainian National University worked on the development and implementation of the project’s sustainable development strategy at the university. Presentations of sustainable development strategies from Ukrainian and Georgian universities were supplemented by in-depth feedback from project partner experts from the European Union.
The final day was focused on cultural and networking events, which created a favorable atmosphere for discussing ideas and establishing professional contacts.
