Recently, the Climate Management Center hosted a lecture on “Nature-based solutions – a model of natural ecosystems” at the Educational and Research Institute of Innovation, Nature Management and Infrastructure, delivered by PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Uliana Tkach. The event brought together students of the institute, scientists, stakeholders and everyone interested in sustainable development and environmental protection. Vasyl Brych, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Innovation, Nature Management and Infrastructure, Yuliia Voytyshyn, Head of the International Relations Department, and Olena Borysiak, CLIMAN Project Coordinator at ZUNU, joined the in welcoming the participants.
The lecturer spoke about innovative approaches to natural resource management that help reduce the negative human impact on ecosystems and promote their restoration. Specific examples from around the world were discussed that demonstrate the successful implementation of nature-based solutions in urban and agricultural areas, water resources, and other areas. The lecture provoked a lively discussion among the audience and inspired new environmental initiatives.
As a result of the lecture “Nature-based solutions – a model of natural ecosystems”, the participants discussed the results obtained, which included: gaining new knowledge about nature-based solutions and their importance for ecosystem conservation and sustainable development; motivating students to implement environmental initiatives in their communities and organizations; sharing ideas and experiences on successful environmental projects that will improve practices in their professional activities; obtaining practical recommendations and examples of implementing nature-based solutions.
These results will help to promote environmentally responsible practices and support sustainable development in various areas of society.
