SUSTAINABLE ENERGY DEVELOPMENT AND CLIMATE SECURITY
The Center's activities are aimed at conducting research in the field of energy, environmental and climate security, as well as research on climate change and the adaptive capacity and resilience of social, economic and environmental systems to climate change; technical, informational and methodological support of training courses and scientific work of students of the Educational and Research Institute of Innovation, Environmental Management and Infrastructure of ZUNU, development of training programs on climate neutrality, energy and climate security, organization of training
The Regional Development Studies is a structural unit of the Educational and Research Institute of Innovation, Nature Management and Infrastructure of the Western Ukrainian National University, which is aimed at promoting balanced socio-economic development of the region, implementing regional policy on an innovative basis and increasing the investment attractiveness of the region.
Main areas of work:
- analysis and forecasting of socio-economic processes in the region, monitoring of its socio-economic situation at the macro and regional levels;
- development and implementation of energy-efficient technologies, tourism and infrastructure development, and project management;
- conducting strategic environmental assessment of state planning documents for the environment;
- Preparation of conceptual, methodological, expert-analytical, and forecasting materials, draft laws and regulations, and public scientific events;
- Participation in the development and implementation of strategic development programs for the region and individual cities in particular;
- drafting programs for the socio-economic development of various territorial units, marketing programs for cities and enterprises, and creating promotional web portals and materials;
- taking measures to increase the tourist attractiveness of the regions, and implementing international standards of tourist services;
- organizing professional development programs for managers, specialists and entrepreneurs from small and medium-sized businesses, government officials, organizing and conducting advocacy campaigns, outreach events, facilitation sessions, trainings, seminars, conferences, forums, etc;
- research of the scientific basis for the formation of regional policy and spatial development, including issues of:
- energy efficiency problems and prospects for the rational use of natural resource potential of Ukraine's regions, sustainable development of its individual territories;
- financial resources of the regions and the problems of their innovation and investment support;
- the state of regional social policy, demographic problems of the regions, regulation of migration processes;
- Prospects for the development of territorial communities and cross-border cooperation and increasing the competitiveness of border areas.
