ZUNU joined the implementation of the international project “Synergy of educational, scientific, managerial and industrial components for climate management and climate change prevention” under the Erasmus+ program

Western Ukrainian National University has joined the implementation of the international project 619119-EPP-1-2020-1-NL-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP “Synergy of educational, scientific, managerial and industrial components for climate management and climate change prevention” / CLIMAN (Erasmus+ program, Neighborhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument, Objective KA2: Higher Education Capacity Building).

The goal of the project is to help universities in Georgia and Ukraine become centers for the development of climate management research to accelerate integration into the global climate market and implement global climate regulation requirements by implementing best European practices in climate change mitigation, adaptation, and mitigation.

Project goals:

  • update the existing master’s programs by developing an interdisciplinary training module “Climate Management”;
  • establish climate management consulting centers at partner universities and ensure their sustainable development;
  • to promote the development and strengthening of the institutional capacity of partner universities to develop recommendations for the industrial, transport, energy, tourism sectors and local authorities in the field of climate change prevention, adaptation and mitigation.

Areas of activity:

  • analysis and study of the European experience of implementing educational and practical activities in climate management;
  • development of the Climate Management training module at partner universities;
  • Establishment of consulting centers for climate management;
  • implementation of the updated master’s program at partner universities;
  • quality management;
  • dissemination and sustainability of project results;
  • project management.

Expected results:

  • the master’s program was updated with the newly developed Climate Management module;
  • qualified personnel;
  • Climate management centers were established at partner universities;
  • A roadmap for the interaction of the industrial, transport, agricultural and tourism sectors and local authorities in implementing climate management policies was developed;
  • qualified climate managers.

Project duration: 11/15/2020 – 11/14/2024.
