Within the framework of the project 101085491 – EEACCCES – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH “European experience of adaptation to climate change: the concept of energy security” under the Erasmus + program (Jean Monnet direction) on the basis of the Educational and Research Institute of Innovation, Environmental Management and Infrastructure of the Western Ukrainian National University during June 10-15, 2024. the Climate Protecting LAB youth summer camp was organized. The camp was attended by students majoring in Agronomy, Ecological Safety and Environmental Protection, Tourism, Transport Technologies, and Food Technologies.
The camp’s educational activities are aimed at raising awareness of young people about measures to prevent, mitigate and adapt to climate change, shaping environmental behavior, and strengthening the capacity to use renewable energy sources.
The camp participants listened to a series of lectures on the following topics: “Environmental Awareness and Stimulation of Green Initiatives,” “Waste Management,” “Energy Efficient Solutions for Households,” visited the ZUNU Climate Management Center, joined the environmental monitoring of the campus in terms of water, soil, and air parameters in the ZUNU Chemical Analysis and Environmental Research Laboratory, took part in the Green Day at the University event, played the Green City game, and formed project teams to develop a list of green initiatives in communities. The final stage of the Climate Protecting LAB youth summer camp was the presentation of certificates to the participants.
