A lecture was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Innovation, Environmental Management and Infrastructure of the Western Ukrainian National University as part of the project 101085642 – SSEPRDS – ERASMUS-JMO-2022-HEI-TCH-RSCH “Smart Specialization: European Experience of Regional Development Strategy” under the Erasmus + program (Jean Monnet).
Jean Monnet projects are initiatives funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program, specifically designed to promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies. The projects aim to facilitate a dialogue between academia and policy makers, providing an understanding of EU policies, processes and institutions.
Innovation management is crucial for business and economic competitiveness, and the European Union is actively involved in supporting innovation through various programs and initiatives.
The project expert, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Uliana Tkach, gave a lecture on “European practice of organizing innovation management” for 3rd year students of the Educational and Research Institute of Innovation, Environmental Management and Infrastructure of ZUNU. Innovation management in the European Union involves the coordination of efforts aimed at developing a culture of innovation, supporting research and development activities and promoting the implementation of innovative practices in enterprises and organizations. This includes initiatives related to research funding, intellectual property protection, technology transfer and cooperation between academia, industry and government.
During the lecture, the lecturer focused on the main stages, namely:
Introduction to the basics of innovation management; exploration of specific examples of innovative approaches successfully used in Europe; application of practical exercises and case studies aimed at solving real problems and encouraging the exchange of experience and cooperation between participants to enrich the collective understanding of innovation management.
The results of the lecture were to make students understand the main aspects of innovation management in Europe and be able to apply this knowledge in their future professional activities, as well as to raise awareness of the introduction of smart specialization in Ukraine.
